Academic Excellence

Kappa Kappa Gamma based its founding on leadership and scholarship. It continues to be an organization that helps its members grow socially, culturally, and most importantly, academically. One of the major benefits of being involved with Kappa is the breadth of knowledge, advice, and encouragement our members provide each other. Whether you have a question about a class or just need someone to study with- you're sure to find the answer amongst one of the Kappas.

Sigma Chapter strives to provide the best academic resources for its members. Some of these amenities are:

24 Hour Quiet Study Room
Tutors in all major subjects, provided by the Scholarship Committee
24 Hour Computer Lab
Internet to all rooms
Test Files (old tests to use for studying)
Voluntary Mentoring for girls in same majors (one older member and one younger member)
Registration Night (a night dedicated to selecting classes where the women can ask each other their opinions on classes, professors, and requirements)
Scholarships from the Lincoln Alumnae Association and the National Kappa Kappa Gamma Organization

Each semester, outstanding women who earn a 3.5 GPA or above are recognized at a Chapter Meeting by the Vice President of Academic Excellence. This recognition provides a time to reward women for their hard work and creates a symbolic reminder that scholastic achievement is paramount.
